Service

Finding joy in an attitude of selflessness,

Yet if the habits of self-care are lacking, it is no one else’s fault!

Owning the frailties of humanity, stand with the glory of Being,

Hidden within the bland camouflage of normalcy

lies a feral, wildly radiant being longing to declare itself.

Happiness can’t be lived if dismissed as fantasy,

It manifests in each step towards the happiness of others.

“Service to” & “Service with” are as opposite as night & day,

Don’t serve God; don’t serve people – serve with them.

“Service to” is compulsory, dogmatic and inevitably leads to hierarchy and oppression,

“Service with” is co-creative, unique Beings fully themselves, fully together

And simply being fully present, keen to the call of each others prayer, they serve selflessly

with purpose entwined.

Divine Guidance

More than an idea, more than a map in the wilderness, divine guidance is complete synchronicity with all that is.

The apple & the eye both need a place to meet. What it sees – for better or for worse – the apple becomes.

Words spoken from a self-defeating heart betray their master. Those from a heart of purity bring peace to the world.

Let THE WAY be open. May the path be straight, letting divine guidance rest surely underfoot.

Guidance cannot be received without faith in the perfection of now. Such faith emerges from a little trusting smile that sees all as it is.

Thus, awareness leads to praise.  Praise leads to faith.  Faith leads to guidance; and guidance opens the way.

Breathe Love

Whatever one calls enlightenment, salvation, tuning in or expressing the Divine – let it be real & now.

Let the deepest expressions of life not interfere with, but rather enhance the daily affairs of living.

With sweat on the brow, heart pounding, let the soul be open – pouring with the river of life.

With awareness of all here & now, with no thought for oneself, let the mind be free for once.

With innocence and wonder, let the mouth & lungs BE breathed, feeding oxygen one cell at a time.

With no thought for “How” or “Why” nor “Why not” let Thy Will be done, serving prayer above all.

Gratitude, Awareness and Service

I love my kids!!!  We recently had a conversation, Papa and the 2 year old, that went like this:

I love you Shemmesh!  I love you Papa!  I love you Shemmesh!  I love you Papa!

You are so sweet!!  I love you Chesca!!  Aww you love Chesca??  That is soo sweet baby!!

I come before thee, father, in the love of a child and a parent, the love between children.  Each of my inspirations are directed to thee, father, representing the holiness within me.  The reason I direct my inspirations toward thee is representing devotion, the earthly part of me being directed and being in alignment with that which is above me, with that with is holy, pure and expansive within.  I also direct my devotion, my inspiration to the holiness within those who may be listening to or reading this, that purity may find a home in the heart of another and strengthen that which is in them.

Heavenly Father, I am meditating this moment on what it means to seek the lowest point of being.  In dreamtime, my dreaming teachers have come and demonstrated several ways of seeking the lowest point of being.

“All things seek the lowest point of being.”

This is the way of nature. The ocean is great because it is the lowest point of water.  Sea level is that which all other bodies of water seek, therefore, all flows into the ocean because it is at the lowest point and that is what makes it great.  All things seek their lowest point.

When I share this wisdom, there is very little response.  People come into a point of stillness and even fear to come across the idea of ‘always seek the lowest point of being.’  Even myself, when the dream teachers said that to me I walked away with a troubled heart.  It felt like seeking the lowest point of being would be an imposition on others.

The seeking itself is the point.  The teaching does not say, “Always insist on the lowest point of being,” it says “Always seek.”  To seek the lower point.

Standing Above, Standing Below

In thinking about the lower point of being over these couple of days since the dream, I’ve thought of many scenarios.  If I am in resistance of any kind to what is in my world, the point of being that I am expressing myself as is standing above it and telling it that it is wrong.

Any moment of resistance, is a moment of standing over life, a moment of standing over the people in your world.

Any moment of gratitude is a moment of taking the lowest point.  Truly in any moment there are only two points:  The point that is above and the point that is below.  Over time, the lowest point is clear, but in the moment there are only two points to choose from.

Resistance is standing above.  Any moment of gratitude is taking a point beneath.  And the amazing mystery is that the point beneath is actually the point of the greatest control, the greatest power and the point of the greatest allowance of the flow of life to move.

If one is beneath another, they are able to lift the other up, and they are loved in the world as they are accustomed to seeking that point and lifting people up.  Everyone loves the person who makes them feel better about themselves.

Everyone wants to know “who am I in your eyes?”  And no matter what you say or do, you are constantly answering this question for them, “Who am I in your eyes?”  The feedback they get is either higher or lower, or more expansive or less expansive than that which they see themselves.

Seek the lower position that can lift people up.  This is only one of hundreds of possible examples of how this position should be sought.  If I am a father and holding a child, holding them in my love, guiding them, where am I in relation to them?  Am I standing above them and doing so in a way that is just resisting them?  Or am I holding them from below, giving them the tools that they themselves need to make the right choices?

We are served by that which is below us

Heavenly father, please teach me more and more about seeking the lowest point of being.  Show me all the ways that this powerful law of the universe can be applied.

What about God himself:  Is God standing above us?  Or is He below us?  In that which is below us, we find rest.  In that which is below us, we are served and not even know it.  The divine is invisible in each one and yet serves us in every micro-moment, every millisecond, on the quantum level to allow this world to be in its present form.

God is below us, serving us, blessing us, embracing us and the gifts of life, nature, the earth and of the soul – the divine has made creation without taking any credit, thinking only for the happiness of his children and the experience of life in this world through our eyes.  How much love is there expressed in taking such a low position?  How much love is there expressed in taking that lowest point of being?  Just like all streams and rivers lead to the ocean, the path of all existence leads to God because He takes the lowest point of being.

Seeking to own my divinity, I seek to find ways to serve the people in my world.  This metaphor of being beneath, being lower is a powerful image describing what is required in the level of one’s attitude to be able to serve.  If one is being asked to serve by the expression of the prayer of another, if I do so insisting my own way of doing it, I am taking a higher position to the prayer of another, taking a higher position to God.

If I cannot serve the prayer of God that can be heard and can be seen, how can I serve the prayer of God which is unseen?  If I cannot serve the prayer of my wife, the prayer of my boss, which can be heard, can be seen, how can I serve the prayer of my Heavenly Father, which cannot be heard and cannot seen, except when I am present?  For I and my Father are one.  This is the law and it applies to every human being.

Always seek the lowest position in beingness.  This law is inevitable, for even if as I have done in my life, I stand above my wife, stand above the people in my life, even my boss and tell them the way it should be in whatever way, whether it is my tone or my attitude or my e-mails, seeking the highest place in relation to others.  What have I done?  I have set myself up to fall, and I have fallen many times in my life because of it.  The man who seeks the lowest point of being is always grounded.  The man who seeks the lowest point of being is trustworthy, is of service and is filled with the light of gratitude.

And what is gratitude?  Gratitude is not sufficiently embodied by the words ‘thank you,’ gratitude is not sufficiently embodied in words of prayer or any kind of words.  In fact, gratitude and awareness are inextricably linked.  Gratitude starts with awareness of all that is, and ends with praise of all that is.

Seek the Lowest Point

Monday morning.  Moonday, the day of the moon, is a time to welcome a new dream – a new story, born from the realm of highest and deepest awareness of the reality of Being.  Today’s dream was a great opportunity to practice my theory on nightmares.

I was in a hotel room in Asia, with a man who was head of the spiritual center I attended about 10 years ago.  He embodied in many ways aspects of all the spiritual teachers I’ve ever had, and spoke to me this time from a Tao-like perspective:

“In all things, seek the lowest point of being.”

I then heard a group of ladies approach the hotel room and the saintly man nodded.  I opened the door as they knocked then stepped aside as these three uniformed attendants entered the hotel room.  My teacher stepped forward and welcomed them.  On hearing their intent to clean the place, he offered to help, which made them laugh.  Despite their resistance, he insisted.

I left the hotel room, not prepared to insert myself in any kind of “low” way onto other people.  It seemed an imposition on them, and I took a walk with a troubled heart.

The dream shifted and I found myself on a beach gilded in pink and purple rays of the promise of sunrise.  It was one of the most serene and vivid displays of visceral color ever experienced in dream-time.  The beach I stood on was soft, warm to my feet, and sandy beige.  Behind me was a path leading up a mountain.  To my right the sand followed the foot of the mountain.   The ocean water in front of me was relatively calm and the surf that did come in was only about a couple feet high.  I must have been in some kind of inlet or bay, because I could see land very near on the other side of the ocean, which also rose to a mountain, and the sandy beach followed its base inland as well.  Eventually both beaches gave way to the river that carved this mountain in half on its way to meet the sea.

To my left, however, was a different kind of water altogether.  It was much calmer, somehow not subject to the incoming waves or outgoing river – or so it seemed to me at the time.  It was a wide estuary, which seemed relatively shallow, but it was the water’s calmness that drew me in most, free from the tumultuous meeting of river and sea.  I wanted to explore its rocky beaches and tide pools.

I looked around again, taking in the amazing display of colors and sounds and smells.  I looked right, down the beach, and noticed a couple had headed off that way on a walk.  At least I wasn’t alone.  That was comforting.  I looked down and saw an old abandoned surfboard.  It was only long enough to support my body if I lifted my ankles into the air.  About to paddle it out into the calm bay, not the wavy river, I noticed that its nose had been grinded off and the styrofoam innards were exposed.  They would get completely soaked and eventually sink the board.  “Oh well,” I thought naively, “At least it would help me see what’s in the bay a little ways.”

I looked again at the estuary.  It was 80 feet across to the jetty-like formations that protected it from the sea, but it was hundreds of yards long.  The point of land that I stood on must have looked like some kind of arrowhead from a birds-eye view, an arrowhead pointing diagonally outward to the wide-open ocean.

Not able to help myself anymore, I set the surfboard on the beach on the calm side of the estuary.  It floated, and would probably hold me up for a few minutes to get a look around.  With my feet still on the beach, I laid on the board.  It was a bit wobbly, but it would give me a look.  Letting go of land, I paddled into the water, and saw my first prize.  The large rocks I passed on my left gave way to an inlet and I saw some fish scurry away from the large predator that I must have represented.  I looked more closely at them as I followed and saw they were 3 puffer-fish, spotted brown atop a pink glowing set of rocks a foot underneath them.  They scurried farther into the inlet and just then my board wobbled again, enough to make me fall in the water, now about 8 feet deep.  I noticed pink coral atop the pink rocks while I was underwater.  This place was so surreal.

As I regained my position, I noticed that this water was only free from waves on the surface, but underneath, the water was churning with an undertow current that carried me down the shore and there was seemingly nothing I could do about it.  Now steadily on top of my rapidly sinking surfboard, the side current carried me to the next rock formation 20 yards down shore.  The rock pile was about 20 feet tall and 40 feet across, with water on both sides as it formed the inlet around it.

Now the dream was steadily taking a nightmarish quality.  As the current carried me in front of the rock pile, I noticed that some parts of this rock pile looked less and less like rocks.  I was passing what looked to be a reptilian skin, shiny, brown and thicker around in diameter than my whole body.  To boot, it was coiled around the south side of this rock, facing the rising sun in a repeating infinity symbol at least 3 or 4 times (figure-8’s) and each coil was longer than 40 feet long.  I started to hold my breath and “sneak” past, but when I reached the giant head of the snake, it’s detection of me was no longer just curiosity.

As it dropped its head down towards the water, I could feel its thoughts sizing me up.   “What is your name?” Was the only thing I could stammer out in reply.  I heard the name, “Ka’a,” then he dropped his giant head down to the bottom of the 8 foot water to come back up underneath me at my feet.  The master’s words “Always seek the lowest point of being,” came ironically to mind as the snake obviously employed this wisdom to reach his prey easily without a fight.  He was “underneath me” rather than the other way around.

I forced myself to wake up.  It was 4:45 a.m.  Good.  Plenty of time to work. Please see my article on nightmares to understand the premise for my work.

I then spent the next hour going back to sleep and re-living the snake over and over again, working out infinite myriads of outcomes for the dream.  Turns out the snake’s domain was fully and completely the spirit embodying every aspect of the place, from the river, to the shape of the land, and even the “couple” on the beach who were put there by him as part of the lure.  They were more like cardboard silhouettes with his consciousness rather than human beings.

Here is my rough drawing of the place:

always seek the lowest point

It is difficult to see the details in this but enough to get the jist.  From land it looks like an arrowhead.  From the ocean it looks like a snake with an open mouth.  The infinity symbol in the middle of the estuary is Ka’a.

My main question to Ka’a in reliving the dream over and over was, “What do you want?”  When I let him, he didn’t seem very interested in actually eating me.  He literally wanted to be below me.  That was the main theme that came “up” over and over again.  He just wanted to be below me.  I finally let him carry me and a cobra-like seat sprang up at the midpoint of his ‘shoulders’ behind the neck for me ride comfortably in.

Yes.  The serpent Ka’a could fly as well.  Perhaps that is why the ancient Mayan’s called him “feathered,” but he had no wings, just energy.  I thanked Ka’a for “imposing” himself and seeking the lowest point in relation to me.  Finally I asked how I could seek the lowest point in relation to him.  He took me up to a place in his sky domain that I drew as “sky cliffs,”  he placed me upon the cliffs then showed me how he rubs his belly with them, much like a bear scratching himself on the bark of a tree.  Finally after showing me on the rocks, he did it on me, rubbing his belly on me as part of the landscape.  I could feel every pearly white segment of reptilian belly as it passed over me, and it was amazing to experience his body from this perspective.  I could also perceive how it benefited him.

Ka’a still wasn’t done with me for some reason.  He was trying to get me to “see” for him.  One of the images I saw was of a standing cobra statue with ruby gems for eyes.  He was blind for the most part and could only sense the world with infrared and with smell.  Perhaps that is why the whole place looked pink and purple to me.  He was trying to figure out a way that we could either unite or temporarily swap our senses or the way we perceived the world.  I couldn’t smell through my tongue, nor see the heat around me when I closed my eyes, and when I opened my eyes he couldn’t see through them either.  The best that he could do was to let me upon him and ride, feeling my thoughts and experiencing the world through my eyes in this way.

Ocean of Love

The invisible ocean of love condenses crystalline as each identity of humanity.

The ocean of love is here & now. What do the great waters rest upon?

Behind the greatness & vastness of love lives the One who sent it. Who is in the water? And who sent the love?

Eye to an eye, hearts within hearts, the collective consciousness pulses as a greater Beingness beneath surface tides.

Breathe, for the waters of heaven fill the sky all around, submersing us in its depths.

In the light of the Sun, ice melts, water rises to heaven. Then the great hammer smelts water to form again.

This is my love, my heaven, my hammer, my sea, yet within it all lives a little me, seeing its reflection in every way to Be.

May this little form love all & judge not, honoring the Divine heart by effortlessly integrating all perspectives.

Soul Knowing

Confront one shadow at a time & unravel its core by being fully present & thinking radiantly.

Humanity is one being. Dividing the self & directing anger within is its greatest fallacy. Wholeness requires expansiveness.

Distill to a single core any agent of rhetoric: Those promoting fear seek to divide; those invoking anger seek to distract.

The master never forgets anything resonant with his core & pierces all illusions with seamless knowing rooted in love.

He confronts himself at every turn, comparing the mind to his soul & discarding any patterns inconsistent with reality.

United focus is the nature of power. Serving the One with all, energy is undivided & available for his prayer.

Deepening Relationships

Letting the soul be fully in charge of this mind, heart & body is the greatest gift one can offer to the world.

In each moment love is new & so is that which sustains the world. Can deepening relationships, too, feel ever-new?

Know thyself today, for it is different than yesterday or even 5 minutes ago. Let what is real engage the world now.

Let two feet rest firmly on the ground of love, letting the soul shine into the space between relationships for the first time.

Stillness is the heart of peace. Resist any temptation to attack, withdraw, or defend & thus engage what is real above all.
